The School Day
The School Day
Our school day for September will be slightly different to normal, as we are going through a new school build.
A member of staff will open the lower gate to the school (where the ramp begins) at 8.40am for staggered drop off.
Children will then be able to walk up the ramp and through the classroom (which is currently acting as our office) to get to their classroom. They again will be met by a member of staff.
Teachers welcome children at the classroom doors with registration at 9 am. This part of the day is spent practising key skills and responding to marking. Morning lessons begin after this. We hold a daily assembly which may be whole school, year group or class based.
The children have a morning break at 10.30am.
Lessons continue after morning break on the run-up to lunchtime. Lunchtime begins at 12 noon. During this time, the children eat in their classrooms and the rest of the time is playtime.
Children can either eat a hot school dinner or bring a packed lunch. The cost of a meal is £2.50.
We do encourage all parents to check their entitlement to free school meals as additional funding is available. Please contact the school office if you would like more information.
If having a packed lunch, we ask that you ensure the contents of your child’s lunch box are in line with our healthy eating policy. As we have some children with severe allergies, nothing must contain nuts. Fizzy drinks, chocolate and sweets are also not allowed.
Afternoon lessons continue until the end of the school day at 3.00pm: We have a staggered pick up with children waiting on the ramp to the school for pick up. Parents please wait at the bottom of the ramp to collect your child at the end of the day.
