The Government provides additional funding to schools with primary school aged pupils. The funding is intended to be used to promote physical activity in primary aged pupils where the foundations of positive and enjoyable participation in regular exercise are embedded. All children should have equal access to high quality PE provision and opportunities to experience and participate in a wide range of sports and physical activities, no matter what their economic or social background.
