The School Day
The School Day
A member of staff will open the gate at the top of the ramp to school at 8:45am each day. This will usually be the headteacher.
Children will then be able to walk into school to their classrooms. Nursery and Reception children will be collected by a staff member of their class and taken to their room.
Teachers welcome children at the classroom doors with registration ending at 9am. Between 8.45am and 9am children will spend time practising key skills and responding to marking. Morning lessons begin after this. We hold assemblies at 9:15am in the school hall.
The children have a morning break at 10:15am.
Lessons continue after morning break on the run-up to lunchtime. Lunchtime begins at 12 noon. During this time, the children eat in the school hall and move outside for playtime. If the weather is inclement then playtime will be in the classrooms.
Children can either eat a hot school dinner or bring a packed lunch. The cost of a meal is £2.60.
We do encourage all parents to check their entitlement to free school meals as additional funding is available. Please contact the school office if you would like more information.
If having a packed lunch, we ask that you ensure the contents of your child’s lunch box are in line with our healthy eating policy. As we have some children with severe allergies, nothing must contain nuts. Fizzy drinks, chocolate and sweets are also not allowed.
Afternoon lessons continue until the end of the school day at 3:15pm:
Children can be picked up from the front playground when the gates open at 3:15pm.
Please stick to the bays marked out until we get used to the new pick up system.
