Online safety
The Internet is a wonderful tool to use but there are also risks if not used appropriately. At Kewstoke Primary School we learn about the importance of Online Safety. This is taught through discussion, drama, stories and other activities. Children are taught what to do if they experience something they don’t like online and where to seek advice both at home and in school.
From September 2023, staff will be using a document called Education for a Connected World to support them with their Online Safety sessions. The aim is to have a discrete session at the start of each term as well as drip feeding it into other sessions where applicable.

Online Compass is a tool that shows you what you need to do to make the use of technology safer for your family. Once you rate where you are, it gives you advice on how to improve and what you need to do to have a safer internet.
If you have any concerns about E-safety or wish to report any incidents which have happened involving internet safety. Please speak to either Mrs Burton.
Please find additional information on the link below. We also have a monthly e safety newsletter than you may want to read over about new and popular technologies and apps that children come across frequently.
