For Reception
Parents need to complete an application form to be sent directly to the admissions team at County Hall or you can apply online here . Application forms are distributed by most pre-schools and nurseries or can be collected from the school of your choice.
Our Admissions Policy follows that of the North Somerset (Education) Authority. For Reception pupils, this means all children start school in the September following their 4th birthday.
Is your child 4 between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025? If so, they will start primary school next September (2025). You must apply for a Primary School place by 15th January 2025.
The preferred method of application is online at: Citizen Portal - Sign in (n-somerset.gov.uk)
For a paper application form, please ring the school. All forms should be returned to North Somerset Council, not the school.
We are happy to show prospective parents around the school before they make an application. Please contact the school office to make an appointment (01934 623430).
Mid-Year and Non Reception Admissions
If you would like to apply to transfer your child/ren to Kewstoke Primary School, we recommend that you telephone the school on 01249 812100 to check whether places are available in the required year groups, and to make an appointment to visit the school and take a tour with the Headteacher.
In-Year admission applications should be made via the North Somerset Council website at Citizen Portal - Sign in (n-somerset.gov.uk)
Transfer to Secondary School
At the end of year 6, children transfer to secondary school and unless parents make alternative arrangements for secondary education, children living in Kewstoke and the surrounding villages usually transfer to either Priory, Winterstoke hundred or Broadoak. Applications for a place at secondary school must be made through North Somerset Council in the Autumn term of year 6. The deadline for secondary school admissions for September 2024 is by 12pm on 31st October 2023. You can apply online.
Transfer arrangements for our Year 6 pupils going to Secondary School are sent to parents during the Spring Term prior to their children starting in September. These arrangements include visits to Kewstoke by Secondary School staff, visits made to local Secondary Schools by our Year 6 pupils and Parents Evenings when you can visit the school and meet the teachers who will be directly involved with your child/children.
